Swine flu symptoms - the whole country is talking about the Swine Flu (H1N1) and the panic from all the news reports can be as contagious as the swine flu itself!.
You may be asking yourself what you can do to prevent, control or at perhaps recover more quickly. Other than the obvious actions you can take such as washing your hands a lot, coughing or sneezing into a tissue and throwing it away right away, and avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth (which are the best places for germs to transfer) you can protect your self and your family by using your juicer.
So what are swine flu symptoms? Very much the same as "normal" seasonal flu and include fever, fatigue, lack of appetite, coughing and sore throat among others. The difference with H1N1 is that it is more virulent and slightly more contagious.
Juicing as Protection Against Swine Flu?
Yes, you can protect yourself from contracting the swine flu by simply utilizing your juicer, before you experience any swine flu symptoms. Now, it may not always be possible to avoid contracting the disease altogether.
However, interestingly, if you stay hydrated and you follow the requirements of ingesting all of the recommended servings of fruits and vegetables each day and you do catch the flu, it is proven to be a much milder case and the recovery time is greatly reduced.
A juicer works by extracting the juice from fruits and vegetables. This process makes the nutrients in your foods more easily absorbed by your digestive system.
Dieticians recommend at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day. Making your own juice in a juicer allows for creativity on your part, but it also gives you the satisfaction of knowing exactly what's in your juice.
You can easily avoid any additional sugars and you know you aren't consuming any chemical based preservatives.
With a juicer, you can use your creativity to mix and match all sorts of fruits and vegetables to make your very own individual creations. Often mixing fruits and vegetable juices together makes the vegetables more palatable for even the pickiest members of your family. The only limits you'll need to adhere to are the ones in your own imagination.
What you should be striving for is to build up your imune system and general health – juicing isn’t a flu vaccine, nor is it a cure but it can lessen the overall effects.
Some family members may not enjoy the taste of some of the immune building foods, but there are ways of masking those foods so everyone will actually enjoy them and no matter what it will be better than experiencing swine flu symptoms! Juicing actually helps improve your immune system while it reduces the effects of the flu.
The richest source of vitamin A is found in carrots. They are extremely nutrient rich veggies in their fresh picked state containing an abundance of B complex. The carrot is also rich in minerals including calcium, beta carotene and potassium.
Whether you enjoy eating carrots or not, you will be amazed by the wonderful and refreshing flavor of the juice. Try blending that with any of the hundreds of fruit juices you can make with your juicer. The possibilities are absolutely endless.
As you experiment with all the new and delicious combinations of fruit and vegetable juices you will likely loose sight of the fact that you are consuming the necessary amounts of fruits and vegetables to sustain your immune system.
A stronger immune system can keep you safe from the flu, but if you do become ill with the swine flu, you will recover much faster by keeping your body hydrated and rich in nutrients.
With the recent designation of the Swine Flu as a pandemic, NOW be a good time to start juicing and help strengthen your immune system and possible prevent the onset or lessen the impact of swine flu symptoms!
